Technology has given us a great way to get our productions to millions of people in different times and places with just a click of a button. Marketing for authors entails attracting and engaging your target audience by sharing more information about yourself and your book. Though it might be simple, it really involve a lot of work.

In today’s post I will be sharing my 5 best tips that can help you sell your books and contents in the Ghanaian market and ultimately get you to the top of the best sellers list in Ghana and make people view your content in Ghana, possibly the World.

  1. Create a website:

You’ll need a website as a published author and content creator. You can create a brand identity on your website. It’s where you always invite customers to obtain more information about you and your book. It is free. You can share the link to your website with your friends and family and grow your readers and viewers.

Lastly, your website is your online home, and it is where people will go to follow you and learn more about you, it should contain all the basic information they need to know about the your book or your content and why they should purchase it.

2. Use social Media:

The world today is interconnected by the development of social media and if you want to market your content and books you must be willing to use this to your advantage. You can create a page just for your book and content on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and others .

Analyze which types of posts and promotions get the most likes, shares, and retweets, and use the information to grow your social media following and better engage with potential customers. You can also set up a YouTube page where you can talk about your content and your books and answer questions for your readers and viewers.

3. Use promotional sites:

Promotional sites can be the very sites you upload your content to. For books sites like Amazon kindle, Blurb, Instagram and You tube. You can market your book on Amazon in addition to selling it there. this will come ate a cost but it will help get your books our there to be bought.

Don’t waste your money on sites that will not give you good results. YouTube also have pop-up adverts to show viewers about other content they might be interested in. Make sure you write the most captivating blurb that will make readers want to know more about your book.

4. Use your E-mail:

This is also a promotional tool. Start a mailing list if you don’t already have one. This is like a news letter people can subscribe too. Once they’re on your list, send them emails about yourself, your book, or your content. Ask them personal questions as well. Encourage them to participate.

Don’t constantly bombard them with “purchase my book” messages or “check out to my content’’. Treat your mailing list as if it were a group of far-away friends with whom you keep in touch about your life and work. With this method you can easily convert them to paying customers.

5. Personal selling:

This is the oldest form of marketing but is is also very effective. You can set up interviews on podcast, radio and television to talk about your book or the content you created. This will allow people to see the face behind the book and get their questions answered directly from the source.

This is good because it creates a form of familiarity between the author or content creator and his/her audience. You can also include a fun activity during your interview to get your audience and even potential audience interested in your book.

In conclusion, there are so many different ways you can market your ideas to the world but you must make sure that whichever way you choose works out for you. Books and content are made to be shared. Make sure you share the links to your website as often as possible to keep the traffic flowing towards your content.
